Annual Regional Synod of Albany Meeting Highlights Graced by the warm hospitality of the Kinderhook Reformed Church and led in worship and communion by Rev. Rudy Visser, the annual synod meeting was held on May 6, 2013 with Albany Synod President Richard Doyle presiding. Reports from the Synod Ministries Board and their working groups and the Fowler Board of Trustees, highlighted some of the wonderful work that God’s people are doing. There were also reports by our Albany Synod President and the General Review Committee. The proposed 2014 Fowler budget of $741,500 and the proposed Albany Synod budget of $295,617 were passed. The 2014 assessment amount set at $29.00 per active confirmed member also passed.
The Synod Search Committee reported that the Rev. Robert Hoffman will begin the role of the Albany Synod Administrator on July 1. Interviews for the position of Albany Synod Ministries Coordinator have been conducted.
The Synod passed establishment of a grant fund for synod congregations that will be supervised in the SMB.
Rev. Mark Andersen, pastor of the Herkimer Reformed Church was elected President, Brad Lewis was elected Vice President and Rev. Robert Hoffman was reelected Clerk of the Regional Synod of Albany.
