Albany Synod Executive Committee

Rev. Jason Fulkerson, President

In his capacity as President of the Synod, Jason regularly attends

Synod Executive Committee Meetings and Synod Ministries Board meetings. He is a member of Schenectady Classis and serves on the Ministry Oversight Committee for the classis. Jason is also a member of the Synod Mediation Team.


Jason the full time, installed minister at Niskayuna Reformed Church. His call started there on February 14th, 2016. His previous call was at Interlaken Reformed Church, part of Rochester Classis. Interlaken was my first call after graduating from Western Theological Seminary in 2011.


Jason met his wonderful wife, Jennifer, in Interlaken. They were married on September 28th, 2013. They enjoy watching baseball together, she roots for the Cleveland Indians and Jason roots for the Chicago Cubs. The Fulkersons were a house divided during the 2016 World Series. They both root for the Chicago Blackhawks during the hockey season. Jason and Jennifer's newest favorite activity is zip lining at a park in West Glenville. 

Rev. Paige Convis, Vice President 

Paige is the pastor of the Reformed Dutch Church of Schodak at Muitzeskill in Columbia-Green Classis, where she is the Stated Clerk.


As part of the Regional Synod of Albany, Paige is currently serving as a part of the Synod Mediation Team and the In This Together for Good Task Force.


Her hobbies are collecting craft supplies, telling her dogs how cute they are and winning at Dutch Blitz. 
She is married to her amazingly handsome and talented husband, Justan. 

Rev. Kent McHeard, Past President

Kent is the pastor at the Woestina Reformed Church in Schenectady Classis. In addition, Kent is the supervisor of Amity Reformed Church and the Albany Synod Representative to the General Synod Council 

Kent is married to Colleen M. Morgan and two boys Garrett William Kenneth McHeard age 14 and Parker Donald Edward McHeard age 12.

He is serving his 3rd term on the School Board in Amsterdam
(alongside a few other boards) and is the chaplain for a Boy Scout troop and three fire companies.

For fun, Kent likes to study Koine Greek and Biblical Hebrew.

Rev. Bob Hoffman, Stated Clerk 

Bob has been the pastor at First Reformed, Berne since 1976. He is a member of Schoharie Classis and serves on the Congregational Support Committee. He also participates in the Classis Clergy Coached Network. Bob works part-time as the Regional Synod of Albany Administrator, which includes being staff to the Finance, Personnel, OJB, and Nominations Committees of the Synod. He also serves on the Synod Mediation Team.

Bob is an avid Cubs Fan. He also does cross stitch (look for his latest baby blanket in the Camp Fowler, Harvest Gathering silent auction) and he finds a lot of satisfaction in landscaping, particularly around the Synod Office. When they aren't traveling, Bob and his wife Becky reside in Berne.
