As you enter the hamlet of Lawyersville, you are welcomed by our country church which sits as a focal point on the highway curving around the village green. In addition to the church and parsonage, our small village is comprised of a cluster of houses, businesses, and farms that have been here for decades, as well as new ones that have been built in recent years.
Since our current pastor announced his plans to retire, we look forward to welcoming a new leader who will be inviting and reinvigorating to all. We are a missional church in the way we as a congregation serve the local community. We welcome new ideas of how to do that while emphasizing the preaching of the Word. We try to exhibit Christ’s love through our actions both as individuals and as a congregation.
As disciples of Christ, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to join together to worship God, to study His Word, and to use our gifts to extend God’s grace and love to others. Our vision is to care for and support the whole congregation in our church, those who attend regularly, those who have drifted away and need encouragement to return, and those who have not yet heard the message of our risen Christ.
We wish to maintain some of our conservative Reformed values and parts of the order of service that provide comfort in their traditions. However, we realize that we need to move forward while we preserve our different points of view as we work together.
If you are looking for a full time or part time position as Minister of Word and Sacrament in an upstate New York rural setting, Lawyersville Reformed Church is the church for you.
